FindLaw.com - Freelance Video Actor

We’re looking for a freelance on-camera video actor to record short “talking head” videos for YouTube that will also be repurposed across social media platforms (shorts/reels/clips). You’ll be the on-screen face delivering scripted educational and explainer-style content directly to camera, recording yourself from your own home setup.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record 1–4 minute talking-head videos, speaking clearly and confidently to camera
  • Deliver scripts provided by us in a natural, conversational, and engaging style suitable for YouTube and social media
  • Self-produce your footage: set up your own camera/phone, basic lighting, and microphone to capture clean, well-lit, well-framed video and clear audio
  • Film multiple takes as needed and submit the best version(s) for each script
  • Follow simple direction and feedback on tone, pacing, energy, and appearance
  • Send footage by agreed deadlines
  • Maintain a consistent on-camera look and style that aligns with our brand (professional but approachable, trustworthy, and friendly)
  • Protect confidentiality of any non-public scripts or project details you receive

Requirements

  • Comfortable and confident speaking on camera for short-form educational/ explainer videos
  • Clear, articulate spoken English; able to adjust pacing and emphasis to keep viewers engaged
  • Reliable access to:
    • A recent smartphone or camera capable of recording in at least 1080p
    • A quiet recording space with minimal background noise
    • Basic lighting (natural window light or simple softbox/ring light) that makes you clearly visible
  • Ability to follow a written script closely while still sounding natural (reading from teleprompter, screen, or printed page is fine)
  • Strong attention to detail (framing, background, clothing, and sound)
  • Reliable, professional communication and ability to meet agreed turnaround times

Nice-to-Have

  • Prior experience working with legal informational content
  • Prior experience as an on-camera host, presenter, UGC creator, or social/video content creator
  • Basic understanding of YouTube/short-form social content and what keeps viewers watching
  • Experience recording from a home studio or dedicated filming space
  • Comfortable doing light variations (e.g., alternate hooks, slightly different tones/energy per script)

Deliverables & Workflow

  • Typical video length: 1–4 minutes per script
  • Volume: Assigned as scripts are ready; may be batched into multiple videos per recording session
  • Format: Raw video files (.mp4), vertical or horizontal as requested per project/brief
  • Usage: Brand-owned; videos will be used on YouTube and may be cut down and repurposed for other social platforms (Reels, TikTok, Shorts, ads, etc.)
